Variable Messaging Displays in Jammu Smart City

The idea of Jammu Smart City Project and the objective of the SPV, Jammu Smart City Limited, is to transform the city into a city "of the people, for the people and by the people"; a city, people take pride in calling their own; a city people own and take responsibility of; a city which is an epitome of good, sustainable and healthy living and a city where "happiness quotient" is high.

We were fortunate enough to win the project for “Smart Infrastructure”. We executed the project of “Ad panels and Dashboard Displays (VMDs) at Intersections and important streets.

We started this project in Dec 2021 with the first step of identifying the 10 most important sites for installing VMDs in Jammu Smart City.

The Variable Messaging Systems display the Real time information of Weather, Air Quality, Traffic Congestion, Estimated Time of reaching various destinations such as Railway station, Airport, famous religious spots. The VMS/Ad Panels are integrated and controlled through the Integrated Command and Control Centre of Jammu Smart City and information regarding Road closures and updates about VVIP movements is pushed from ICCC to VMDs.
