Adaptive Traffic Management Systems at 40 Traffic Junctions in Chandigarh Smart City

Project executed with Dynamic Messaging Signs, CCTV Cameras with Face Recognition and Vehicle Recognition, and Smart Street Lights along with an Integrated Command and Control Centre.

Traffic Management Issues are faced world over by every city administration. The problems of congestion, road accidents, traffic violations are all the more acute in India because of the enormous number of vehicles plying on the roads. Chandigarh city regarded as one of the most planned cities in India took a step to manage the traffic scenario in Chandigarh by installation of the street level smart products. 40 major traffic junctions in the city were selected for improvement and smooth flow of the vehicles.

Single Colour Dynamic Message Signs were installed keeping in mind the heritage and theme of the Chandigarh city. The System provides live updates and keeps the motorists updated with the real time alerts to avoid any traffic congestion, construction work zones, important messages ahead in the journey. The Junctions are also fit with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) CCTV cameras are integrated with the Dynamic Message Screens and any adverse incidents will be automatically conveyed to the people of Chandigarh by the Command and Control Centre.

We work closely with the city administration and study the city roads thoroughly before Implementation of the Smart Products to achieve our goal of reducing fatal road accidents. UNO WORKS in collaboration with Original Equipment Manufacturers and Bharat Electronic Limited successfully executed the project in Chandigarh Smart City. The project is under Annual Maintenance of 5 years and we are playing our part to perform O&M activities in the project.
